SADHUS

Sadhus, or hindu ascetics devote themselves  to spiritual life and owns only few possessions and they survive typically on donations.

You meet them around temples and other holy places, and you can be sure to see quite a few of them around Pashupatinath in Kathmandu - especially during one of the many Hindu festivals where they arrive from other parts of Nepal and India.

Some of them are "professionals" I would say - turning up every day at the temple - and I have for sure met a few of them year after year.
